Sir John's Peak

What Sir John's Peak is known for

The Coffee Industry Board licensed the estate to export green beans in 2013. Its coffee is washed, sun-dried and packed in aspen barrels. The estate's own website describes its harvest as beginning in August and peaking in April and November, a spread that, if accurate, would run longer than the harvest window most commonly described for the wider Blue Mountain region.

A meeting place for growers

Beyond its own crop, Sir John's Peak plays a role in the local farming community. Because chairman Donald Salmon also leads the Jamaica Coffee Growers Association, Daily Coffee News reported in 2023 that the estate hosts the association's gatherings, bringing together roughly two dozen regional farmers, which makes it a point of contact for smallholders in the surrounding district as well as a producer in its own right.

How Sir John's Peak's coffee reaches buyers

The estate describes itself on its own website as vertically integrated, and says it distributes internationally through Da Finest Coffee Ltd, with a presence in both the United States and the United Kingdom; it reports that stock already in the UK ships quickly, while larger orders can take two to four months to fill.
